About the Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Test Java Developer to join our team at Career Central's headquarters in Chennai. This full-time office role offers a chance to work on innovative projects within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Java applications running on IBM z/OS under CICS.
• Analyze and improve JVM performance focusing on memory, CPU, and tuning.
• Integrate Java with native z/OS components using JNI, C/C++, and LE interfaces.
• Implement efficient data access using JDBC, SQLJ, and DB2 best practices.
• Collaborate with systems programmers, DBAs, and developers to ensure interoperability.
• Review performance metrics and support automation for Java workloads.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives for legacy systems using hybrid integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional Java development experience, including 5+ years on IBM z/OS.
• Deep knowledge of JVM tuning on z/OS including heap sizing, GC policies, and workload classification.
• Strong proficiency with JNI for interfacing Java with COBOL, C, and C++.
• Expertise in JDBC, SQLJ, DB2 for z/OS, and mainframe database tuning.
• Hands-on experience with USS, JCL, and TSO/ISPF.
• Working knowledge of LE and Java integration with native z/OS programs.
• Familiarity with SMF, RMF, SDSF, and performance analysis tools such as IBM OMEGAMON or BMC tools.
